So go ahead and pile in the car, put the phones away and take some time to enjoy the beautiful weather outside.

Oh, the Places You Can Go

Not sure what address to put in the GPS? Here are some of the many places you can explore this fall:

Agua Dulce Winery—Santa Clarita

This 90-acre, family-owned and family-operated winery and vineyard is a must for wine enthusiasts. The vineyard hosts daily wine tastings and tours, a gourmet gift shop and wine sales. There are also a number of events happening each month, including $5 Wine Wednesdays. And if you’re looking for the perfect getaway, you can even stay in the vineyard’s mansion!

Calico Ghost Town—Yermo

Calico was front and center during the silver rush of 1881. The Old West mining town eventually became a ghost town after silver lost its value by the mid-1890s. Since then, the town has been restored to resemble the days of the silver rush. Visitors can uncover the fascinating history and camp in the scenic surrounding desert.

JetHawks Baseball—Lancaster

Time to take the family out to the ballgame. If you’re looking for some lighthearted fun and entertainment, grab your gloves and root for the JetHawks, Lancaster’s minor league baseball team.

Antelope Valley Fairgrounds—Lancaster

From Oct. 13-15, the fairgrounds will be hosting the RAM PRCA California Circuit Finals Rodeo. From bull riding to team roping, you’ll see some of California’s most talented athletes compete for titles in seven thrilling events. Yee-haw!

Six Flags Magic Mountain—Santa Clarita

Who doesn’t love amusement parks? Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or a parent with little ones, Magic Mountain has plenty of family rides and hair-raising attractions for everyone to enjoy.

The Gentle Barn—Santa Clarita

This six-acre farm is a sanctuary for animals that have suffered from abuse and neglect and are either too old or sick to be adopted. Once the animals are healed, they are reconnected with people in a nurturing and loving environment. The Gentle Barn is open to the public once a week and is available through the rest of the week for private tours, school field trips, birthday parties and more.

Joe Davies Heritage Airpark—Palmdale

The sky’s the limit at this one-of-a-kind airpark. With 21 retired military aircraft on static display, the airpark takes visitors on a journey as they learn about our nation’s aviation history. To get the full experience, you can schedule a guided tour Monday through Saturday.
